As the undergraduate coordinator, I serve as a resource contact person for all School of Music students. It is my responsibility to invite you to audition as an interested new student, and later review your final clearance for graduation. Along the way it is my job to counsel students through the various degree program requirements, including the processing of degree changes, recital attendance, adding/dropping minors, and address any questions you may have.
Quality, value, success — these are the key points that I hear from parents and students on applying to the SOM and again at graduation. The cooperative action of faculty, curriculum, facilities, performance opportunities, on-campus cultural events, the community of West Chester, the proximity to Philadelphia's cultural events, and the great campus atmosphere all contribute to a music education with depth, breadth, and substance. I believe that the success of our programs is best assessed by the opportunities our graduates enjoy: successful careers or continuing education at prestigious institutions — and a 99 percent employment placement rate for graduates of our Music Education program.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you about your future and what opportunities the School of Music have to offer.
Sincerely,
Dr. David Sprenkle
